چکیده

At the Field Experimentation Centre of Department Genetics and Plant Breeding, 20 rice genotypes, including one check variety, were assessed in order to research genetic variability, heritability, progress, correlation, path coefficient for 13 quantitative features. In Kharif 2022, experiment was carried out utilising a Randomised Block Design with three replications. Over NDR 359 (check), BRRI DHAN-75 (26.133) A.K.DHAN (23.067) demonstrated greater yield. Number spikelets per hill, panicles Biological yield, tillers Grain yield Harvest index, Panicle length, Test weight, Days maturity, height all had high moderate estimations GCV, PCV, Genetic Advance as Percent Mean. Estimates heritability ranging from moderate, progress quantity panicle, biological yield, plant height, days 50% blooming. both phenotypic genotypic levels, grain showed strong positive connection number harvest index. index significant direct influences on hill. Thus, current experimental materials, these qualities are recognised effective prospective indirect selection increase

EVALUATION OF MAINTAINER AND RESTORER LINES FOR YIELD AND YIELD CONTRIBUTING TRAITS OF RICE (Oryza sativa L.)

An experiment was conducted at Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur during T.Aman season of 2007 with a view to evaluating seven maintainer and 30 restorer lines for yield and yield contributing characters for selecting promising maintainer and restorer lines for developing rice hybrids in our local environment. Significant variations were noticed among the parental lines for all ...

Association mapping for yield and grain quality traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Association analysis was applied to a panel of accessions of Embrapa Rice Core Collection (ERiCC) with 86 SSR and field data from two experiments. A clear subdivision between lowland and upland accessions was apparent, thereby indicating the presence of population structure. Thirty-two accessions with admixed ancestry were identified through structure analysis, these being discarded from associ...

Investigation of the Yield and Quality Traits of Some Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Genotypes

Grain quality in rice is one of the main determinants of marketability and product sales. The aim of this study was to investigate the quality of different rice genotypes in different environments and to identify the genotypes with desirable quality. In this trial, qualitative characteristics of 16 rice genotypes, six introduced lines, 8 parental genotypes and 2 genotypes as control in Amol and...

Analysis of QTLs for panicle exsertion and its relationship with yield and yield-related traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.).

Panicle exsertion (PE) is an important morphological trait that is closely associated with spikelet fertility and grain yield. To understand the genetic basis of PE and its relationships with yield and yield-related traits, a recombinant inbred population consisting of 240 lines derived from a cross between an Indica cultivar 'Kasalath' and a Japonica germplasm 'TD70', was studied over two year...

Effects of Seeding Time and Weed Control Methods in Direct Seeded Rice (oryza Sativa L.)

Field experiments were conducted during the 2 year period from 2008 and 2009 to determine the effects of three seeding dates and seven weed control methods in DSR. The results suggested that seeding in the first week of July reduced weed density and biomass, increased kernel weight, leaf area index, and kernel yield compared to seeding rice in the first week of July. Amongst weed control method...
